Surveys

sample project

An integral part of our business is the preparation of reports to assist our clients with the purchase or maintenance of their buildings and structures.

Condition Surveys

These reports comment on the general overall condition of buildings and structures and assist clients in making appropriate decisions to evaluate likely expenditure or to assist in their negotiations. Our reports are written without jargon and with recommendations for remedial works where appropriate. They are tailored to suit each specific case and can vary from a simple letter to a detailed report accompanied by recommendations for further investigative works to give the client a full assessment of the building’s condition.

Reports on Specific Defects

These reports focus on specific defects in buildings and structures and often form part of an insurance claim or response to queries from mortgage lenders etc. They can often involve investigative procedures (opening up works, trial holes etc) to establish the cause of the defect. Following diagnosis, we will recommend appropriate remedial works.

Structural reports for Planning Applications

Part of local authority planning policy requires structural reports to be submitted to confirm buildings are ‘fit for conversion’, as in the case of a barn conversion for instance, or to justify ‘demolition’ as part of a client’s proposals for re-development of a site.
